War Memorial Ceremony

Sunday May 26, 2024

The Reedsport Memorial Weekend Committee invites everyone to join us for a solemn War Memorial Ceremony after the parade during the Show & Shine to honor and remember our fallen heroes.

The War Memorial Ceremony is a time to pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. The ceremony will start with a paratrooper and will also include the reading of the names of those who have fallen, the tolling of the bells, a color guard, and a bugler playing Taps.

The reading of the names is a solemn moment where each name is read aloud to honor and remember those who have fallen in service to our country. The tolling of the bells is a traditional way of honoring the dead and symbolizes the finality of death. The color guard will present the flags and symbolize the pride and respect we have for our country and those who have served it. The bugler playing Taps is a final tribute to the fallen and is often played at military funerals and memorials.

Hahn Memorial Park is located at 680 Fir Avenue in Reedsport, Oregon.
